Melville Bowl Arena
Melville Bowl Arena, located in Melville, Saskatchewan, is a historic 6-lane, 5-pin bowling alley that has been a community staple since 1961. To modernize their operations and enhance customer convenience, they sought to implement an online booking system that would streamline lane reservations and related services.
The Challenge
Melville Bowl Arena required a flexible and intelligent booking system to manage complex reservation needs. It needed to support time-based and per-person pricing, optional add-ons like shoe rentals, and real-time lane availability. The system also had to allow manual bookings from the admin side, include a calendar view by day, week, and month, and support automatic lane assignments based on defined rules.
SCOPE OF WORK
We developed a fully customized booking solution using WooCommerce and Bookly, tailored to the operational needs of a bowling facility. The implementation included:
- Online booking with support for time and person-based pricing
- Add-on services like shoe rental
- Real-time lane availability and rule-based auto-assignment
- Manual admin-side reservation input
- Dynamic booking calendar with day/week/month views
- Secure online payment and cart functionality
- League registration form integration
Final Results Of The Project
The new system significantly improved both customer experience and internal operations. Customers can now easily book lanes, view availability, and pay online. Staff benefit from a clear, centralized reservation calendar and simplified lane management. Most importantly, the arena now has full control over their booking process, reducing errors and improving efficiency across the board.
