Delight+ Chinese Cuisine
Delight+ Chinese Cuisine is a well-established Chinese restaurant located at 3126 Clarence Ave S in Saskatoon, renowned for its extensive Chinese menu and popular daily lunch buffet. The restaurant has a strong following among local patrons and aims to further expand its reach, particularly among younger customers who prefer online ordering and digital engagement.
To achieve this, Delight+ partnered with YES TECH to build a website that supports online ordering for delivery, takeaway, and dine-in services, providing a convenient digital experience that mirrors the quality of their in-person service.
The Challenge
Prior to launching the new website, Delight+ Chinese Cuisine faced several pain points:
- No First-Party Online Ordering
The restaurant relied on third-party platforms like SkipTheDishes, which charged high commission fees and lacked customization options. This limited the restaurant’s ability to promote its brand and implement advanced features such as loyalty rewards or promotional campaigns. - Diverse Service Models Needed Integration
Delight+ offers delivery, takeaway, and dine-in options, but had no unified system to support them online. Delivery pricing needed to be dynamic, based on distance from the restaurant. - No Coupon or Promotional Automation
There was no mechanism to engage loyal customers or offer personalized promotions—such as automatically sending birthday coupons. - In-Restaurant Order Management Was Manual
Orders from third-party apps had to be manually tracked. There was a risk of missing orders, and no real-time monitoring system existed. - Strong Customer Base, But Limited Local Digital Reach
While the restaurant had a loyal traditional customer base, it lacked an online presence that would appeal to younger diners accustomed to fast, mobile-friendly digital ordering.
SCOPE OF WORK
YES TECH delivered a fully managed website and ordering system solution, tailored to Delight+’s operational and marketing goals:
1. Online Ordering Platform Development
- Developed a custom website with built-in ordering, supporting delivery, takeaway, and dine-in services.
- Delivery fees auto-calculated based on user address and distance from the restaurant.
- Mobile-responsive design for optimal ordering experience across devices.
2. Automated Promotions & Coupon Management
Integrated a birthday coupon system: registered customers receive an automated birthday discount coupon via email, improving retention and aligning with in-store promotions.
3. In-Store Order Notification System
- Provided a free tablet pre-installed with YES TECH’s proprietary app, connected to an automatic thermal label printer.
- Orders are instantly printed and emailed to the restaurant, minimizing missed or delayed orders.
- Back-end monitoring system allows YES TECH to provide proactive support, notifying staff in case of delays or failures.
4. Site Maintenance & Expansion Support
- Full managed service including domain, hosting, SSL, and business email setup.
- Content updates and menu modifications completed within 2 business days of submission.
- Ongoing support for promotional content, seasonal menu changes, and platform upgrades.
